You can customize the recurring invoicing methods to best suit your needs.

Here's a simple example that involves automatically generating monthly invoices from a sales order.

There are 3 main items:

1. a mapping between the "Sales orders" module and the "Sales invoices" module
2. some custom fields in the "Sales orders" module
   • Enabled - to enable periodic invoicing of the "Sales order"
   • Start date and End date - the time range in which recurring invoicing will run
   • Frequency - the frequency of recurring invoicing: monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, annually, ...
   • Next invoice date - the date of the next invoice (re-calculated at each invoice generation)
